This was 2009's OAP out of Hargrave. Fantastic experience. We went to state on this one. A first for Huffman.
I wass fortunate enough to play Rivard and take us there. It was one of the most rewarding I've done. The most difficult emotionally as well. But by that same token the most educational.
In a scene in which I was thrown from one scene into the next, my partner got a bit too excited and he did the work instead of letting me. The only problem is, I was doing the work already. Soooo a simple slide turned into a rather advanced over end tumble.
Advice for others:
Rivard is a difficult guy. He is complex in his emotions. The real trick is you have to encompass this massive tragedy. He spent years of his life in exile to save Rita, only to find out she was dead the entire time, and mainly due to his actions. Heavy stuff. Also you need to learn to save the emotional power, because the nature of Runner Stumbles requires the actor playing Rivard to switch on queue between the past Rivard and the broken man of the present. Preserve that brokenness inside you for the past scenes. When the present roles back around you're gonna need it.
