CAST AS: Second Guard in Antigone

  • About this performance:

This is Jean Anouilh's version of the story, and the first show I did in college my freshman year. The director redistributed all of the guards' lines, so we each had about the same number. We had an impressive set, for the tiny space we were in. The costumes were very good, and I made many friends in the cast that stayed with me all through college. I have many fond memories of this production.

  • Bloopers:

As guards, we chase Antigone onstage after she buries her brother. We entered through an archway stage left, and then make a sharp right turn toward another archway up center. The dress shoes I was wearing had absolutely no tread. Several times in rehearsal (and twice during the run), when I made that right turn, my feet went right out from under me. Every time, the director would give me the following note: "That fall's not working for me. Can you cut it?"
