A stage play written by the late August Willson. This story told of a 1927 Chicago "Blues" band (Cutler, Toledo, Slow Drag and Levee) under the auspices and contract of Gertrude "Ma" Rainey. Performed in a seedy recording studio in Chicago while awaiting the arrival of "Ma" to perform a recording session with intentions of selling records.
