I was put in as an understudy a few weeks before the start of the production. The hardest part of this play was keeping up with the phone calls. Nothing prompts you so it is all in your head. The other thing I learned from this is how hard it is to not move around with your lines! She is an invalid who can't get out of bed (or so she thinks) so I had to teach myself to keep all of my motions constricted but natural.
One of the operators couldn't say the work "Meridian". Her and I ran lines together a lot. Well, I got so used to correcting her when we practiced that during the live performance when she got it wrong, I corrected it. We kept right on going but at the end of the 3rd night the stage manager said " Hey, you know that isn't your line right?" We had gotten so used to it we didn't even realize we were doing it!
