I was CAST provides a unique virtual space for the acting community - a place where individual performances can be showcased and shared with the world long after the final curtain call. Here you can share anything from your shining moment on stage to your biggest blooper. You can easily connect with actors who are (and were) cast in the same production(s). I was CAST is a place to share experiences and gather advice - a valuable resource for any thespian.

Who is the site for?

I was CAST is for anyone involved in theater and/or film. From amateur to professional, all actors are welcome! By joining, actors receive a free web space to promote their onstage accomplishments.

What can I do on I was CAST?

You can easily import your videos from YouTube, upload audio clips, create an image gallery and more... Tell others all about yourself in the "About Me" section of your profile and then share the link with friends. If you are a professional (or looking to be) you can upload your comp/zed card and acting resume.

Registered users can rate and leave comments for others and new members are featured on the home page after they have joined. You can also join fan clubs and send fan mail through the "I was CAST" mail center. All personal emails are protected and not shared with visitors through the integrated mail system.

Soon to come will be additional integrations with Flicker, MySpace and Facebook. Take a few minutes, create yourself a free profile (if you haven't already) and enjoy your time on I Was CAST!

How does the site work?

All performances and content on I was CAST is user-generated. Visitors can search for a show title or character from the search box (appearing in the upper right corner of the site) to locate actors who have been CAST in a particular production or role.

Advertising on I was CAST

As you may have noticed, I was CAST is not crowded with advertisements. We do not wish to cloud the purpose of the site with unrelated ads.

There will be (ARTS RELATED) advertising opportunities rolled out soon. I was CAST will offer advertising space to theaters nationwide to promote upcoming shows. Each ad placed will appear on the site for a targeted audience (100 mile radius - based on zip code). If you are interested in promoting an upcoming show on I was CAST, please email us at info@iwacast.com. After the rollout, new advertisers will receive FREE advertising for the first 30 days.

The second advertising opportunity is for companies wishing to place casting calls. To help weed out the imposter casting calls, all ads will require a $10.00 placement fee. Casting calls will expire in 30 days or when the casting event has expired. I was CAST does not endorse or recommend companies that offer casting advertisements on the site. All actors should respond to ads with caution and only attend casting calls with another person.
